This is really creative and insightful, Cassie! I’ve been learning to use it as a copywriter who specializes in brand identity, and also more recently as a querying author looking for comps. I love seeing how other writers use it and super dig the attitude of approaching it with curiosity rather than as something to fear. Thanks for sharing!

ouuu that's so interesting, Deepa! I would love to read more about your process. I also love using it as a comp resource, something writers typically loathe. I'm trying to get better at embracing change as I get older, haha! :)

Thank you for this fascinating post. Since I’m querying, I’m definitely going to try this.

I love this so much. I've been using AI a lot lately (I prefer Bard over ChatGPT, but mostly for the UI) and I love the way you're using it to brainstorm the more tedious parts of writing. (Marketing, pitching, etc.)

I'm doing a little idea streak this month, and I've been using it a lot to help generate ideas. "Generate 10 literary short story ideas in the style of PUBLICATION, that have to do with themes of X, Y, Z" was pretty fun. Some of the ideas were super bland and trite, but every now and then, AI offers a spark and then I run with it from there. It's like bouncing ideas off a friend, except I don't need to text anyone at 5am when I'm writing. :)

Hahaha oh my gosh, if only there WAS a 5am text chat solely for writing (and only texted in the first ten minutes of the writing session). AND YES, this is how BJ uses it too, he's been generating prompts / riddles (I don't know the word) for his computer science warm-ups of like "fixing" the coding errors. And it'll generate full marketing plans too, like you said they're not always the greatest, but there are some gems! It's interesting as a sort of spring broad / diving board!!

Wow! I am amazed by your intelligence and ingenuity. You have taken the scary AI and made it useful and less threatening. What will you come up with next? Amazing!
